Lush beauty blogger event in Cardiff.

Firstly let me apologise for my disappearance over the past few weeks. Me and the Carlos have moved home, it took him quite some time to set up my pc. Phew what effort it has been so far, and it isn't finished yet. My poor little Clio has been run ragged over the last two weeks moving things two and fro and trips to Ikea. Not the stuff dreams are made of but we are pretty much settled in our new place in Cardiff Bay and loving it! Might put up a little interior post for you all to have a little guided tour soon!

So just before I moved I happily attended the Lush bloggers event in Cardiff. If you read my blog you will be well aware I have an intense love for Lush and I adore almost everything. I went with fellow beauty blogger Hannah from Awaken Beauty (why not give her a visit? maybe a cheeky follow too?)

So we were greeted by some yummy non-alcoholic cocktails. One a refreshing and light fruity mix and the other a rose blend that you would drink if you took a little visit to one of their Lush spas.

Pretty much everyone there ran for the upstairs first leaving us nosing downstairs. Downstairs we got the fun task of making our own "Angels on bare faces" cleansers. It was like being in nursery and being encouraged to make a mess so much fun!

Upstairs there was lots to see and do like trying the face masks, cleansers, moisturisers and make up etc. Rather than bore you with chit chat, here are a few more pics.

Everything we tried left our skin feeling just lush....Personal favourites include moisturiser "Gorgeous", "9-5" cleanser, "Dusk till dawn" massage bar and "Ro's Argan body conditioner". For me nothing beats Gorgeous and Whoosh shower jelly. Absolute nom!!!

In time I will do a few reviews on my favourite products but for now I shall keep this short and sweet. Thank you to the Lush staff for having us, always so friendly and caring. It was also great meeting everyone! All in all a great evening!

Lots of love

OPI nail polishes hit Superdrug stores!

Hi there!
Firstly let me say sorry for the recent disappearance, severe lack of imagination. So I'm back and ready to go!!!

Secondly, yes you read the title correctly OPI nail polishes have hit Superdrug stores!
In the next few days Superdrug will be selling Nicole by OPI polishes in a wide range of colours and glitters. I know for a fact the Cardiff store has them and they will be selling for a mere £7.99, so head on down and grab yours now!

I've been after a lime green for a little while and yesssss they had one and yesssss it is gorgeous. I blame Jessie J for this one.
I have a few Nicole by OPI polishes and they have the same great quality as the original OPI brand (which are my favorite).

I know I'll be buying some more! Any one else going to grab some while they can?
Drop me a comment below, I'd love to hear from you!

MUA undress me too palette review.

So I posted on Facebook the other night that I was seriously debating buying the Urban Decay Naked 2 pallette and following the crowd like a sheep.
I'm not going to talk about naked 2 because it is a real cult product and has been reviewed 654648382353537382927392863546484829 times.

So my friend who I used to work in Superdrug with said I should buy the MUA palette and that she would make my boyfriend (who also works for Superdrug) buy it for me.
I forgot all about it until he came home with one yesterday, and to be honest on first impressions I was impressed. All the golds, bronzes and deep browns are perfect for me and are my favourite colours to wear. It cost £4!!

'

I wore it this morning and it went on beautifully. The pigments are great and the more shimmery colours are just gorgeous. I've swatched all the colours for you to see the great the not so great. 80% of the colours I will use which is great for a palette because sometimes a lot don't get used.
To be honest my desire to buy the Naked 2 palette has died because these two are practically identical! And the price difference is just unbelievable. So thanks Lorna, I love it!

Girls have you tried this? What are your thoughts? I would recommend this to anyone!

Fake Bake flawless tan review.

So this tan was top of my list when I went to the beauty show, I saw it on one of the girls in work and the colour was so perfect and bronzed I knew I had to get some.

I got it at trade price as I am in the trade however you can pick it up in boots for a pretty reasonable price.
It comes packaged with gloves, a gorgeously soft tanning mitt, the tan and a spray pump. The best ways to apply are by spraying the tan onto the mitt and applying to exfoliated skin in circular motions. This allows you to apply it evenly. It can also be poured into your tan gun bottle (for those of us who have tanning machines) and sprayed on, although you will get a lot more out of your bottle by using the mitt as you can loose a fair bit due to overspray on the machine.

So this is me before. And yes I am genuinely that pale, I haven't edited my photos in ANY way.

So how did it apply? Well simply fantastically! It blended brilliantly and barely streaked.

Did it dry quickly? Super quickly, as soon as I started tanning the other arm/leg it was pretty much dry through, amazing because you can put your clothes back on straight away and it doesn't transfer.

What's the colour like? A gorgeous natural (not orange) bronzed result. Not the darkest tan by far but it gives a subtle colour, great if natural is your thing.

How does it smell? Like coconut goodness! Not that horrible biscuit smell we have all become accustomed to!

What is it like as it fades? It actually fades out well, you don't get white patches in the creases of your elbows first etc. It actually fades out pretty evenly.

After:

So it's fair to say I'm very happy with this tan and I will continue to use it and love it.
Have you used this tan before and what are your thoughts? If not what is your all time favourite tan?
My next tan to try and review is going to be a newish brand URBAN TAN in their darkest shade SUNSET. I literally can not wait to roll around in it and become the bronzed goddess I should have been born as!

London ExCell Pro Beauty show.

So for those who don't know the London ExCell Professional Beauty show is a pretty big deal for all those in the beauty industry.

Me and a whole bunch of my colleagues from work went down on Sunday. It was a real early start getting up at 6am to travel from Cardiff to London.
We eventually got there around midday, phew! I'm such a fidgety traveller, I get bored so easily!!
I couldn't wait to get in there. I knew I wanted to buy and try out a whole bunch of new tans, I also needed some sleep in rollers in my life and any extras from there was a bonus!

If you have ever been to an event such as this you will know the amount of floor space it covers is huge, so flat shoes are a must as you will be doing a lot of walking.
All the stands were amazing and full of fab things to look at although I avoided CND, OPI and Nail Harmony as they were stupidly busy! Shame as I love all three.

I obviously went to visit HD which was insanely busy so we couldn't really see much which was a shame because they were releasing new stands at the show and me and my fellow HD tech Sam really wanted to see!
They were doing demos on an amazing looking set which I couldn't photograph where the model was being worked on as she lay on a chaise longue. The ultimate in luxury.

My main loves were Clarins, doing free treatment demos, my hand and arm massage was amazing!!! Also they were selling gift packs of all different products for amazingly cheap prices.
Fake Bake, super cheap and easy to get served at!
Sleep in rollers, although they were so busy it was almost impossible to get served.

Me and some of the girls came across a tan brand we hadn't seen before and were wowed by the models amazing bronzed colour. They are called Urban Tan and their concept is amazing. They also make scented drops that you can put into your tan to make it smell amazing, and OMG they really do, Linen and Fruit punch were just gorgeous. I managed to get 4 pretty big sized tan samples which I can not wait to use!

I also got a tan sample from Crazy Angels, however I think I have had an allergic reaction to that as I have tried it out on my arms and chest and come up in hives, I'm itching and burning! It's such a shame because the colour really was stunning.
I bought some Flawless tan from Fake Bake which I can't wait to try next!

I bought a few other boring bits like wax for my wax pot etc.
At the Aston and Finchers stand (a really good beauty warehouse) I bought some MyCurl curlers, we have these in the salon I work in, you can literally curl your whole head of hair in 3 minutes. I also saw some amazing fully Swarovski blinged straighteners for just £100! Wish I had taken more money!!

With all the amazing things I bought I will review soon as I know a couple of my readers want to know how they are!
So don't worry girls, they will be up soon!

Last but not least I have to say a massive THANK YOU to all at Salons Direct! As we were walking around we were asked by a very gold and sparkly man to jump in and have a photo, if we tweeted the picture to the salons direct twitter we would be in with a chance of winning an Ipad Mini. So I tweeted and forgot about it. Yesterday I had a tweet saying I had WON! I can't believe it! It should be in my hands by tomorrow. I really am so excited!!!
I can't wait to be able to blog on the go!
Here is the pic that won me this amazing prize.

More posts to follow my gorgeous readers!!!!
Lots of love

Rose Tinted Hourglass review and GIVEAWAY!

Firstly I would like to say a big thank you to the lovely Rose Tinted Hourglass for sending me some absolutely lovely pieces of jewellery recently. I was very spoilt and have got to sample a few of their pretty items.
These are what I was sent. A lovely button ring which I adore, some coral matching button earrings, which again are too cute, a very classic and vintage time piece necklace with real clock hands from a clock and a little hourglass and lastly some adorable little button hair clips and earrings.

All of these pieces are very well made with no tell tale glue marks and because they are hand made it makes them all the more special. The service i received from Rose Tinted Hourglass was fantastic one of the best I have experienced. One thing I can not stand is when you have a problem or question there is simply no reply or it takes ages, this was not an issue at all with speedy and super friendly replies.
The good thing about this brand is you know you are getting a one off item that no one else will have. Everything is priced very reasonably so you can afford to get yourself a few cute kitsch bits.

You can find Rose Tinted Hourglass on
And online at www.laurahockey.co.uk

I'm giving one lucky reader the chance to win themselves the clock hand necklace and button earrings!! The competition won't run long so get in quick!
This is only open to UK entrants. Sorry.
